I was in Woodies and saw this Strimmer which comes complete with the interchangeable attachments for €149 -down about €50.

Cheap as chips -I paid €200 last year for a similar capacity strimmer with only a brush cutter head included. It has JCB on it so I suppose it was worth the extra. Brand names are important to me and I'm sure the JCB one wasn't even made on the same continent as the Woddies one :) which is proabbly made in China for 50 different compnaies with only the name sticker changing.

This one has the line strimmer head, a brush cutter blade, a hedge trimer attachement and a chainsaw attachment.

Obviously this is not for tree felling but it'd trim a few gnarly branches nor is the hedge attachment a substitute for a proper trimmer but it's unbeatable value.

no shortage in the shops and see it online at

If Woodies do a pensioners dicsount day and another few yoyos off I'll have to rent a pensioner to go get me one. Lightly used JCB strimmer ......

The JCB sticker is not a guarantee of quality (although it is on a 3CX backhoe loader :D) and I am almost certain that it is just another example of Chinese mass produced stuff.

As for the 4-in-1 functions, 'jack-of-all-trades and master-of-none' springs to mind. How can a strimmer operate as a chain saw ?
