at the tender age of 23, i plan on booking my first sun holiday ever! found a cheap deal for costa del sol end of may/start of april, but am having troube finding out if the weather is any good that time of year. am a little suspicious of the tourism sites telling me it's glorious throughout the entire year? obviously not expecting it to be scorching like july (i couldnt handle that kind of heat anyway!) but i do plan on spending a week laying on a beach or walking around in shorts... does anyone know if it will be warm enough for that sorta carry on?!?
thanks for any responses! want to know before i book anything

April/May can be 50/50 for the Costa.

When its nice, its REALLY nice and not too warm. Although you might need to bring a sweater or light jacket for the nighttime.

However when its bad, its BAD!. April/May can be rainy too, I've been there when the weather made it look like the end of the world was coming.

But either way you'll have a ball without the HOT, HOT, HOT days of high season.

I was in Majorca last September, and it was pretty cold, some days were nice but the evenings got cold. But then I heard the week after we came back was nice !!!

You can just be lucky / unlucky.

I would prefer to go in June when you would almost be guaranteed !!!

April can be dodgy enough, though i was there in mid april last year down in Marbella, was very overcast windy and quite a bit of rain. BTW was very bad in Marbella last week strong wind and heavy rain! Early May is probably better but you might not be in shorts and sun tanning every day!

would you not try the Canaries, try Ryanair for cheapo flights to Tenerife South, I just got €30+taxes return for a week in April, a good apartment should put me back around €300, so all-in around €450 for a week with better weather prospects then the Costa
