Netopia 2247NWG-VGx: NAT Issue

    Hi folks,

I have the Netopia Wireless router that Eircom supplies with their broadband service. Firmware version is 7.6.0r3. I have the connection limited by MAC address, and have WPA enabled. I have also enabled NAT.

I have a home network setup with a number of laptops connected. However in the admin console it seems you can only assign a range of ports to one host at a time, e.g the range 10015-10026 to one laptop, and these ports cannot be associated with another host. This makes it impossible to make skype calls etc on more than one device.

Am I doing something wrong, or is this a limitation of a cheap router? And if so, is it possible to update the firmware with something like Tomato, DD-WRT (neither of which work with the Eircom supplied router)?

    Any help appreciated.

    Da
