I've got wireless digiweb broadband and get a phoneline with this service. This phoneline works perfectly for connecting to a regular sky box but wont work with the sky plus box. The installation man said he had problems with this before. Anyone know anything about this or why this may be the case?

This has come up a few times -- should be a few threads knocking around about it. As far as I remember, it could be made work -- but all boxes had to be connect to the same point (could be wrong).

It will work fine for all sky box's, I have done loads before. Get him to do a software upgrade on the box before the installation or try a different box.

What kind of software upgrade? (its a new sky+ box). Will the guy know what I'm on about?

It may be new to you, but who knows how long its been in storage for?
If he knows his job, well then yes he will know what you are talking about.

It should work. Keep the phone line between Metro modem and Sky box(es) short, use latest Sky box software, and don't use any dialing prefix. For multiroom, the phone line length definitely needs to be reasonably short, and both boxes should be connected to the same port (be that Tel1 or Tel2).

Metro phone service is flaky for me, at best, but the sky boxes do make a number of attempts (each) and look like they get through eventually, and as it's a freephone number coupled with the fact I haven't heard Sky complain yet, it seems to do the trick, eventually.

For me, whenever I've connected the metro phone to the sky+box and tried to configure remote access (for mobile phone setting of the schedule), its crashed my thompson metro box (can surf but not make calls) until I reboot the metro box.
