What are peoples opinions on this?
Its mainly gambling companies who sponsor darts & snooker, one on one games and very easy to fix. 888.com & ladbrokes are main sponsors
There was a hint of match fixing at the Malta cup.
I heard someone suggest that Ronnies match on Sunday was fixed for Ronnie to loose by one frame.
Ok the prize money is s***e these days, around 20,000 euro to win an event. Players could make 10 times this from matchfixing. Do you think that winning a tourament and becoming world no. 1 would be more important to someone like Ronnie than to make hundreds of thousands from matchfixing?

The Malta Cup roundrobin matches could have been dodgy, especially the 'dead rubbers', though a lot of bookies didn't bet on these games.

The rest of your post is nonsense though.

Winning £200K on fixed matches just isn't feasible, there isn't anything close to that sort of liquidity on the exchanges, and fixed odds bookmakers don't accept that sort of liability on 10-9 scorelines in competitions that aren't even being shown on terrestial TV. Alarm bells would start ringing when the liability approached the 20K mark.
I suppose theoretically you could have a team of people coordinating small bets in various bookies and online etc, but then you are splitting the pie so many ways that no-one is going to be winning 'hundreds of thousands'.

    Conspiracy Forum stuff.

I think that you misunderstood his post. He seems to be suggesting that the tourament or just its final is fixed, not by gamblers but by the bookmakers or their people on the ground.

Im sure it doesn't happen Glenman but its an interesting theory. Looking at some of the performances of the top players recently you may have a point. I just thought they were off their heads on something :D
