Mario Kart gets a massive yawn and meh from me. I've played it far too many times on practically every console and the game hasn't really changed much since the N64 version, even though the playability was much better on the snes. I've played the series to death.

What I really would like is a smash bros. brawl release date that isn't ridiculous like the June one that is being rumoured. Now there is a series that really hasn't seen enough iterations.

i cant wait for Mario Kart Wii. i see there are multiple different control settings, including using the game cube controller, the wiimote on it own or with the nunchuck. i wonder how many buttons are required to play.

for instance if your using the wiimote on its own then you will tilt to stear, one button for accelrate, one for brake, one for power steer, one for shoot. i dont think the wiimote enough buttons comfortably placed to pull it off. like trying to use the B button when the pad sideways is a pain. and tilting to stear is never good.

i'm really looking forward to this game anyway. can anyone tell if there is 4 player action and on-line multiplayer?

*EDIT* just googled it and there is 4 player action and up to 11 player on-line play. yes yes, this rocks!

Once MarioKart doesn't suck like the GC one did, and once Wii Fit won't require any actual physical exertion from me, we'll all get along just fine.

Actually, I'd buy WiiFit for the intended Skiing game alone, that could be pretty sweet...

what are you talking about? mario for the GC was a great game. double the shooting action because you had two players. required even better tactics. you could store up a leader shell until the very last lap. great!

    +1

It's one of those popular games I never 'got'. Always thought I must be missing something. I couldn't be though, I've owned every version since it began (Really don't know why???) Dull, slow and repetitive. Even the multiplayer is.

Bought the DS version when it was released. For some reason I was again expecting something good. Just...terrible. Okay, I get it, you like racing in small carts. For the love of god, add something new.

Blasphemy. Mario kart will be epic!

Well, according to the reliable sources on Youtube, namely the videos from E3 and all that, the new game will have, wait for it, Motorbikes!!!

So not only will they, probably, screw with the handling of the karts, again, but they'll present us with new vehicles that'll mess up the games balance, and then use the Grand Prix mode to force us to play them, yayyyyy!

That said, I'm still going to buy it!

And as for it being "epic", unless the karts can go off road and permit speedy travel through Hyrule and let me a bit of back wheel spin in Ganons face, HA!, I don't think it'll be "epic", not sure any race game ever has, maybe Test Drive Unlimited....

Mario Kart is always the same on every console, but it's always so fcuking good on each one. It's going to be addictive, can't wait!

Just read an article maintaining that there are, in fact, deep racing games.
I guess they are the likes of PGR4, Forza 2 or GT5 rather than Dig Dig on a Honda or Mr. Driller in an Impreza.

Well, fingers crossed Mario Kart Wii rocks, presumably it'll be the multiplayer folk'll be buying it for, and I pretty much stick to single player maybe it won't be for me,
that said, it didn't stop me from buying every other edition that came out, so I suppose I'll be buying it regardless.

As for WiiFit, depending on the price, I still haven't replayed Zelda Crossbow Training and the WiiZapper since I tried it out the first day, so many games with peripherals end up in the "nice to own but never play it" category.

In fact the only non standard device that ever got a good airing was the NeGcon on the trusty PSone, the single greatest racing controller EVER!
And the less said about the JogCon the better, my thumbs never healed right after that.

how can you say that!:eek:princess peach on a bike simply worthy enough to force us to pay the bill!:)without saying LOTS of new stuffs added by nintendo into this kart game this time

i heard there was supposed to be a wheel packed in with it. would you be able to use different controllers aswell? just thinking about the multiplayer. will other games be released using the wii balance board thing

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 52,882 CMod ✭✭✭✭Retr0gamer

There is a wheel packed in with the game but it also supports the wiimote and nunchuk combo and the GC pad.
