Hi, Im a 22 yr old female, Ive been going out with my bf for nearly two years now. All going grand with him. However Ive been thinking recently, (not to do with him as such) but I noticed that say if Im walking down a street, I find myself looking at gorgeous women as opposed to men.... I really honestly don't think Im gay... I never think about doing anything with these women or anything of the likes, I just look and think "god she is gorgeous". I guess Im just asking/wondered if maybe its possible that I am just looking at these girls out of jealousy/admirance? As I feel Im not a very attractive girl (would class myself as being "plain" as such) What would ye think, am I more likely to be gay or is this simply something regards just admiring/complimenting good looking women? I do look at men and think "he's hot" but those men tend to be few far and between! And that tends to be in relation to some really typical good looking guy (Brad Pitt lookalike kind of thing) I feel maybe it has something to do with the fact that women try harder, regards make up etc so its kinda like "there are more good looking women than men"???

Just because you might want to try it doesn't mean you're gay.

I think that's totally normal... I'm a girl and when walking down the street, visually I think that girls would usually catch my attention more. I'm only attacted sexually to guys, but as a human I find my eyes drawn more to girl's appearances more often, as I find alot of men look almost identical with similar jeans/ shirt / hairstyle etc...it can get a bit monotonous. And I do look at other girls and sometimes wish that I could be that thin etc etc.

Its entirely natural to wonder and explore. It is part of the human condition. But do avoid trying to categorise yourself or fit into labels

In most sexual studies they have found that roungly 10% of the participants are gay, 10% are straight and the other 80% are somewhere in a spectrum in-between, so actually not having these thoughts puts you in the minority.

SentataL: its a lot more fluid than that as it changes with age and time.
though useful as a guide in saying you are not the odd one out, such studies should not be taken as gospel... to say oh i fall into the 10% bracket is falling into a label. When at some point in the future it may change.

But as an general example, i take your point, and so should the OP

In fact, I spend half my life saying stuff to my hubby like "God hasn't she great hair/boobs/bum whatever". He keeps saying that he has the bestest wife in the whole world LOL

There's nothing unusual about looking at and admiring women. Since you say you have no desire for any sexual interaction with them then you're pretty much not gay.

Part of this desire to look at women is natural but I think some of it has to do with the media. We are encouraged to look at attractive women all the time on tv, film and magazines. Beautiful women are presented to us as something to look at, to desire, envy and emulate. That culture might be something to worry about.

But you shouldn't worry, you're perfectly normal. And women are usually nicer to look at than men.

Me too I look at girls, every girl does, we're admiring whats good, judging would that look good on us, maybe a bit jealous. It's just us, we're programmed to watch other girls to protect our own status.
Don't worry so much, if you want to kiss a girl then maybe, if not you're not.

Trough art and advertising we are taught that a certan type of human female form is visiually pleasing. So it is not unsual to look at women in the same way one would flowers.

You may even want to hug and touch them but if you don't' get physically aroused by this or don't feel the urge to eat them out then really you are not gay or bi.

Lol, I do that too!!! I'm always saying to my bf "hot girl at three o'clock" he loves it! Tell his mates about how cool I am and how graet it is to have a second set of eyes PLUS I don't mind if he looks (once he doesn't touch!)

Thanks for all the replies, they have been pretty much as I expected I guess. No I do not have a ugre to "eat any if them out"lol. I would just look and think "god, she is hot" or "god, look at the chest on her" (Im pretty much flat chested so....)

My g/f is exactly the same to be honest.
She does look at men from time to time but is far more concerned with what
women look like/wearning etc
Doesnt bother me whatever floats her boat.
My friends keep waiting for world war 3 every time we are down the pub and
I admire some girl that walks in, never happens though cause she loves lookin too!

edit3: so okay in fairness I was wearing a t-shirt that says "I like me." but when you have your jacket on that can easilly read "I like m.."

I have zero interest in females sexually. The thought of being with a woman does absolutely nothing for me, but I could look at women all day. I love looking at women. I think females generally do - out of admiration/aspiration.

i would say that on average women are easier on the eye than men so i wouldnt worry about it. everyone likes a quick ogle, right?

I look at girls thinkin they're hot too! I'd think about kissing them and doing stuff too, but I don't consider myself to be either bi or lesbian as I would never never never consider a relationship with a woman! Just for the sexual experience!!!
