Please help, posted on this few months back but didn't get any replies, have gone to IT support in job, ISP etc and no one seems to be able to solve this one.

Basically I have a DSL modem with netgear wireless router. Sometimes i lose connectivity to some internet sites and not others, i.e. i cant open google, page just hangs with "website found, waiting for reply" but there are some websites such as boards.ie and my company webmail, skype i can always connect too, so it's basically only certain sites i can access, although it does seem to see the others???

I've tried changing channels on my wireless, ipconfig /flushdns, checked all settings, made all security settings lowest possible, turned off firewall, tried with different laptop (exact same symptoms on my home network). I am now officially out of ideas and this is still happening. I'd consider myself good at IT stuff, dont work in it directly but use it all the time etc in work.

Anyone, please, any ideas or suggestions?

    any help appreciated.thanks

Eliminate as much as you can, turn off and disconnect the wireless router, connect directly to the eircom dsl router using a network cable.

See if this makes a difference, if not factory reset your eircom router, repeat above.

If you go to a mates house with your laptop can you surf the net fine?

If you eliminate the router and connect directly to the modem does the problem still persist?

Any chance of borrowing an all in one (integrated modem/wireless router) from someone to see if that works ok with your connection?
