Heat Pump Thermostats

    Hi,

Currently building a new house and putting in a vertical ground source heat pump with underfloor heating. Have got 2 quotes so far. One crowd have told us that they will put their thermostat/sensor on an outside north facing wall which will turn on the heating if the outside temp drops. The other crowd told us that the thermostats would be inside - seperate in the bedrooms and living areas.

From your experience - which is the more efficient?

The house will be very well insulated.

    Welcome to boards.

I think you are getting mixed up there. The thermostat outside controls the temperature that the heatpump will run at. If it there is a big change in the temperature the heatpump will react to this.
The thermostats in the rooms control the room temperature, your rads or underfloor heating.
    Hope this helps
