Room size (floorstanding or bookshelf)

    My room is 936 cubic feet (9 width x 13 length x 8 height).

I was thinking of replacing my old sony hifi system (http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41F86XZ86HL._AA280_.jpg) with a cd player/radio and a pair of floorstanding speakers.

I'm not dead set against book shelf speakers, but then I'd end up having to get a subwoofer too.

I'm curious if floorstanding speakers would be too big in a room of this size (acoustically, they would fit in fine physically).

I'd be looking at something like the 1030 from Q Acoustics, so it wouldn't be a full tower.
