Oldest Thai Boxing footage from the 1920's. This is the rarest Muay Thai boxing footage around. I got it from the Bangkok Film Archive when I was there and I had to get it transferred from celluloid on to digital. I also included a trailer of Fight or Flight in the middle to get some publicity for the film.

If you can rate it I'd appreciate it.

    Peter

By the sound of the commentary, it is definitely 1920's. That is very good footage, I enjoyed watching it.

you can really see that muay thai has changed in style over time, guards are lower in this clip and the kicks and movement are not like muay thai today. or maybe this was a demo match?

I dont think its a demo match as the crowd looks too interested. Its old footage transferred so it looks a bit jumpy. They would have been using one of those side wind up cameras back then. I had to include the trailer - apologies - Need the press !! I'm trying an experiment and going for the youtube million hits mark. So far its 2,000 since posted yesterday. And its playing second behind Westlife on youtube.ie in the video tab - can't have that :)

I'd like to say well done to Peter on getting Fight or Flight made. I think I read about it about 2 years ago either on a boards post or in an IFI program and it's intrigued me ever since. The trailer looks great and as someone who works in the film industry myself, I know just how difficult it is to get a film like this (i.e. a personal project conceived and self produced by you) made. Much respect to you and best of luck with it.

P.S. is it going to be on in the IFI again as part of a festival at any stage or was it ever on there at all? i'd love to catch it on the big screen.

Hi Dark Warrior. Thanks for the comments. What part of the industry are you in.

    Cheers

Nope, its done its time on the big screen in Ireland - but heading to New York next Saturday. Going to try and get into a festival in Ko Phangan which should be a laugh. One of my favorite places in Thailand other than Ubon Ratchatani.
