Anyone taken one a part before. It seems to be a very very different Version 2 mechbox. Its factory sealed along the top to prevent it from being opened.

It may look very different from the v2 but in reality its not, with the quick change spring its really easy to work with, the 'seal' your talking about I would say is just the metal sleeve thing that hold the top of the gearbox nice and tight together a always came across that on both v2 and v3 gearboxes. If you push it from the back end something flat it should slide forward they can be a bit tight.

Yea its a metal sleave. Also there is no quick change spring mechanism in my gear box. The g36 is all metal, even the bushings are metal is would seem.

umm that rather strange, if there is no lug that you push in and turn at the back of the gearbox i find that rather strange as it is standard on stock star g36 gearboxs, did you buy it new?

that metal sleeve is standard on v3 gearboxes, some v2's do have them alright

I thought you where talking about the plastic gear box quick spring release mechanism. It does have the lug you describe.

Well thats been a frustrating five hours. Gear box will no longer consistently fire. The sector gear winds back the spring but for what ever reason won't make it past the last tooth. Any ideas before I got removing teeth.

Give Warren a shout he did it before..... And then failed to lube the gears before he stuck the thing back together :p:p

I've replaced the piston, though not the gears.
