Hi, I'm thinking of buying a DSlite on Amazon.com (US site) and getting it shipped to a hotel that i will be going to for a week in March in LA.

Has anyone bought anything in this way?

Is there any problems with this?

You may have a problem getting it shipped to a hotel as it's not a registered address on your credit card. Where are you heading to - should be easy enough to get on in the shops - we did a few weeks ago for $130...

Hi BigFeller, I'm not sure exactly where yet, Boss is making arrangements, working a some days and hopfully a few days off too. The reason I was thinking of doing it that way was I don't really know how much free time I'll have.

I did this last year, bought 2 jackets off ebay and shipped them to my hotel in NYC. All went smoothly apart from USPS tracking is HORSESH!TE! Said on the site that they attempted delivery (when they hadn't because it was a saturday) so I was on a wild goose chase to post offices around Time Square, long story short you'll be fine!

Thanks majiktripp, I went through the process on ebay (usa site) to see what would happen as a test and gave the delivery address of a hotel in LA, it seemed fine, but obviously I didn't confirm the purchase. Hopefully it will be no problem. I may get free time there anyway to shop but its good to know that ebay will allow you to purchase and deliver to an address there

Has anyone else experienced anything different buying from ebay's usa site?

Thanks B1977, That site , bongous, is a postal service if anyone else wants to know. It's not really what I'm looking for.

Anyone else have any experiences they want to share?

Done it with multiple shops to multiple hotels; I recommend you contact the shop before and ask if they are ok with it. Also once you're in the hotel make sure you notify them that you're waiting for a package (don't have to specify what or from whom, or say business related if they ask). Make sure you use a service where they sign for it as well (I had ended up having to show them the tracking that they had actually signed for it once due to the receptionist insisted that nothing was delivered to me) and include the company name in the delivery address (i.e. Your name, your company name, hotel name, street name).
