Hi, I used to go horse riding every week for a good few years (maybe 5 or so) when I was younger. I never got into it competitively but really enjoyed going to lessons every week. I stopped going during the leaving cert but i'm in second year in college now and I'd love to take it up again, just to get a lesson every week and maybe a few hacks. I was just wondering if anyone knows any riding schools who do classes for adults (I really don't want to be with a group of ten year olds) who have an intermediate level of riding and who aren't necessarily interested in competing???

Somewhere in wicklow/south dublin would suit best....

    Thanks!

    Hi Twister,

I spent many years riding without taking lessons, I recently started taking lessons on a weekly basis, I was a bit concerned based on what you stated in your post, I found the riding school I'm with put me in with adult classes which matched my skill level, I found the best approach to be honest about where you think your riding ability is and where you would like it to go, I currently do a couple of lessons a week and find that everyone else is in the same boat as me, find a school and book a lesson, you will never look back,

    Hey there,

What college are you in? A lot of the bigger ones have Equestrian Clubs. I went to U.C.D. where the club organised lessons and polocrosse games for members in Carrickmines at cheaper rates, and had interversity competitions for those interested in competing. I know DCU and Trinity had similiar clubs then too...

    Good luck with it anyway!

I'd say Killegar in Stepaside/Sandyford would fit the bill. Can pay as you go.
