    Not worth buying IMO!
Go for a 22lr instead, its the same process to get it with less hastle! with more power and range and wont break th bank by any means!
    Bigger range to choose from!
    Just my 2 cents though!

The problem with the .22lr is ricochets when shooting rats at close ranges, and it couldn't be used indoors, as an air rifle could, and it's safer to shoot magpies with an air rifle as well, reason being that if you miss, you haven't catapulted a round that'll land nigh on a mile away and do damage.

Not trying to rub anyones nose in it but its illegal to shoot any wild bird with an air rifle.
You might be able to get a concession from the garda under certain circumstances such as safety, noise, damage to property, proximity to other buildings and people, damage from black powder,
    ps i would go for a 30 ft/lb

Where does the powder go in an airrifle

If you're after rats and stuff in sheds or farm buildings it makes a lot of sense using an airrifle.

    thats a small budget,try a wheirauch,HW80,77 or 97. or the Air Arms tx200 or pro-hunter 2nd hand.
very well made and easy to tune up in power.good deals can be got in England and not too difficult to bring back, little paper work needed, just your licence anda one page form from the dept. of defence.

calss vid man if i had a load of rats to shoot in a shed i`d go for an air gun but i don`t and a HW100 would cost alot more than a .22LR i`d love a HW 100 if i had the money to buy one very nice gun, the vid looks to be good fun knocking off all them rats lol

you can get "rat shot " rounds for the .22 they only fire up to 12 feet so you could use them in farm buildings or sheds ..

Iwas in the same boat as you. i wanted an air rifle for same job but went with .22lr instead. Cz452. lovly rifle. rat shot as suggested for indoor rat and pigeon shooting no problem and up to 100yrds no problem in the field providing your capable of that distance.

its not illegal. you can shoot all vermin that includes birds with an air rifle. 12ft/lb would do out to 40yrs no probs. no need for 30ft/lb.
