The above is terrible ,a mess of a movie .

I'd say if you were stoned out of your mind ,you might laugh at it once or twice.

Just saw this last night, absolutely brilliant, so many funny scenes, if you like 40 year old virgin/knocked up/superbad style humour i can guarantee* you will love this. I dont know why its not as well known, seems to have gone under the radar a bit, but highly recommended nonetheless

Have looked at itabout 4 times now and it's one of those movies that doesn't loose much on repeat movies, I found myself nearly pissing myself before certain scenes, namely the riot scene.Looking forward to see what these guys come up with in the future. In my opinion they are farfunnier than the Apatow click at the moment all be it that they are heavily infuenced by them

Im not been smart when I ask this but what age are the people in this thread who loved it? Im 27 and had to switch it off after 20 mins. Maybe Im getting old

    A terrible, terrible movie.

Yeah myself and 5 of my friends watched this movie last week. I'm in agreement about it being very childish. You've all hit the nail on the head with comments about it being like other comedy movies. Sadly it doesn't match or exceed any of these, comedy stolen straight out of Napoleon Dynamite and meshed together with kitschy 80's airs held together with a terrible script and not much else, isn't my idea of a laugh out loud movie. It just seems like one of those terrible releases in the wake of a very successful movie like Napoleon Dynamite in the hope of catching some of its cult followers.

none of us enjoyed it, we're all of the 24 - 27 age group!
Maybe i was too baked to appreciate this, i just very much doubt it!

    Bit of a thread revival...
Just saw this last week, it was absolutely hilarious, very very similar to Napolean Dynamite. I have recommended it to a few friends, all of whom also thought it was brilliant.......and no we weren't "stoned" :)

Absolutely, i would say this is on the same playing field as old skool. I saw it on the plane to Oz and i was in stitches for the entire duration. Non stop laughs from the first few seconds. Cool beans!

I'd this recommended to me last week too by a 32year old! I think it's very hit'n'miss, some scenes are just awkward but others are brilliant to watch, overall I loved it. The riot scene, dancing in the woods and his first fight with his father are my favourites, also the chinese guy handing out the flyers to the dance music is pretty funy too.

One thing on the Ferrell involvement there's some scenes where I could picture him in the lead role, in particular the scene where he gets Isla Fischers attention to come to his garage and just starts banging on a car engine, very Anchorman like I thought. Watch it for its great moments.

On a sidenote a great soundtrack.
