Looks like it's going to happen in July, does Duddy have any chance?

Very little if any chance. This could be a horrible night and a painful night for Duddy. I just hope he doesn't take too much punishment....

    Personally I think its dangerous.

I just hope its ended early because if Duddy is stubborn he could end up seriously hurt. I really dont have a good feeling about this fight. :(

I'll be surprised if it goes past the fifth round. I can see this being stopped due to problems Duddy has had in the past with cuts around his eyes.

Pavlik to take him out in 5, those heavy jabs will make sicken Duddy especially with the lack of head movement Duddy has generally shown (even though it is improving)

Would seem a pretty risky move for Duddy to step up to that level alright. Compare the previous opponents of the two boxers and you're talking about different classes. I can just see no way that Duddy could beat him.

Here's the deal. It's basically now or never. Duddy is being given the chance of a lifetime and he either grabs it with both hands, or he continuse slogging it out, beating nobodies and retires. It's better he gets to challenge for the title, make a good heap of cash and then ponder his next move. Fighters like Duddy cannot afford to be choosy....

And fights like this don't come along very often!!!

I understand he has to take a chance it's not tiddly winks after all as hatton says, it's like a premiership team playing a non league side except in boxing somebody could get seriously hurt.I'm not looking forward to it but remember when buster douglas beat tyson anything can happen :D (not very likely unfortunately)

Ah come on guys Duddy is a big boy but Pavlik boxes in straight lines. Taylor got hit by some hard jabs and a few good rights and so will Duddy. Pavlik is a bit like Kessler , power with very little finesse. Duddy can take a shot and may get KO'd but as walshb said this is what it's all about. Fair play to John I know he will give Pavlik plenty of it.

Id love if Duddy beat him because i think Lee gets the winner of this fight

Duddy and Lee will surely meet sometime , maybe a non title bout. They would fill Croke Park in a year or 2.

woould this making for a mor interesting fight

I think he deserves a shot main thing is duddy has to survive the first few rounds from pavlik going like hell to spark him early that could be good for john, cause it be hard for pavlik to stop him if he's just trying to survive the first few rounds unlike miranda who fought kelly's fight thats JOHN'S only hope i think but hey think i'll go to this great weekend in NEW YORK CITY.

Still see Pavlik winning but it ain't end all if duddy's loses so likes get behind our man. It's first time we've had a irish guy fight for a world title in a long time (bar wayne) we should be happy were back in big time boxing.:D

Without a doubt. Lee is the superior boxer imo and has much less chance of getting hurt.

To put him in against Pavlik now would be a disgrace though. The lad is 23 and is nowhere near the finished article, not to mention completely ill prepared to fight for a world title.

His time will come but its still far to early.

Jesus, you're actually insulting both boxers but in particular Kessler.

Kessler is a seriously accomplished all-rounder with excellent skills whose only loss was a narrow one to a fella who has an unnatural workrate and fitness levels.

Looks like Gary Lockett will get a crack at Pavlik on June 7th now according to bbc sport.

I just got to see the complete Duddy fight from MSG. It was shown
on BBC last night. Man, Duddy is one tough guy. He has a great chin and is
the real deal, if only he had the punch. He has the shots and the moves and can really dig deep and go the full route. He just doesn't hit hard enough.
He also, as we all know, takes too much shots, but he's still a great talent.

looks like pavlick-lockett is very close to being done.
wonder when duddy will fight again and if he will get a shot at pavlick when his cuts heal, or if he seriously needs to beat a top contender first?
