If you are living in the the Larkfield Apartments on the DCU campus and have signed up for Internet connectivity with the Computer Services Department then, YOU ARE INVITED TO SIGN UP FOR DCU’s FREEWIRE TV BETA TRIAL.

This is a service provided by INUK Networks UK, which specialises in the delivery of quality TV over the Internet to many of the University halls of residences in the UK. This technology is called IPTV.

What is Freewire TV? Freewire TV is a television service available on your PC/Laptop which will give you access to the following 10 channels BBC1, BBC2, BBC3, BBC4, UTV, CBBC, BBC Parliament, Cbeebies, News 24, CH4 – absolutely free of charge. Yes, no catch. Download the software at www.freewireTV.com and you’re good to go.

Why should you participate? Well, for one, if it’s successful – which depends on if you use it, it will give us reason enough to launch other great channels like Setanta, MTV, Bravo and a few International channels as well…secondly, you do need a break from it all sometimes, don’t you!

Find out more about Freewire TV at www.freewireTV.com. It’s already available in several universities in the UK…and INUK want to make the same channels and service available in your university in Ireland.

So all you need to do now is download the software on to your PC/Laptop, the software is safe and quick to install.

If you have any problems or want any help in the first instance please speak to Freewire support on 0845 6060051 or you can visit www.freewireTV.com to find out more information. "

It's alrite now. Channel 4 and BBC 3 being the most channels that I watch on it. Would be nicer if there was a better channel choice but beggars cant be choosers. But all in all, I am quite happy with it.
