ello, jus some Q's on boosing router signals, i jus searched and found some info on em but wondering how it would relate to my situation...

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055087072&highlight=antena

    some other previous thead info...

    http://www.elara.ie/products/antenna.asp

so if those answers relate, i have no idea really what im lookin for as far as antennas go so if anyone can help out feel free,

also can u add a splitter to the antenna input to add extra antennas?

    anyways...

    I have one of these....

Philips routers, its a simple basic easy router that works aok but the signal has to travel a bit to get a good connection, its usually 2 bars out of 4 @18mbps average and maybe 3 bars at 36mbps sometimes, but it isnt as stable or fast as id like to get it at on the computer upstairs which is also connected to an xbox, (comp is conected wirelessy via usb key and then the connections shared with the xbox)

The routers in a central location beside a computer (conected via ethernet) downstairs and cant really be moved, so i was jus lookin at a simple easy enough way with antennas to boost the conection a bit i guess, the one on the router is pretty small and flimsy... but since the laptop is used anywhere and then a nintendo wii is in the opposite location of the xbox so i was just lookin at omnidirectional antennas that might be usefull for the situation, xbox live is usually grand but it looses the connection the odd time which can be kind of annoying, but if im on xbox live i wont be downloading or using the comps.

I tried movin the router around a little and it did help so hopefully with some clever placement and an antenna is can be made that little bit more stable and reliable + with some extra distance...

theres not really any houses or buildings or anything with interference closeby either...

    Error 404
Page not found - A Page by that name does not exist on the site

    not workin =/

    EDIT:

Is this the thing u mean DSC01842.JPG

i already made a homemade antenna! it works a little its liek that using tinfoil and card, it boosted the wifi when its pointing my way up to 20% signal boost so instead of gettin 20-30% signal i get 60% max, its mad what a lil bit of tinfoil will do... but still thats ONLY for one direstion its good a new overall boosted antenna would work wonders for the job

the one on elara seems aok but wonderin if it will work it has the rite connection rite?

yeah same i made a homemade antenna thingy there the other week, it actually boosted the connection upstairs with and extra 25-30% when its aimed there

so that got me figuiring it would jsut be better if i had a better overall intenna than the lil thing that came with it ya kno...
