I am looking at a new house and a problem that has been pointed out to me is that the stair to ceiling height is 1.9m and should be approx 2.1m, is this a major problem?? I plan to get a full survey completed shortly but just wanted to know what the situation is.

For a new house the headroom should be 2 metres. See part 1.1.9 of Technical Guidance Doc K

**** thought so, It is more like 1.9 than anything else. I will have to wait until I get a structural survey done and see what implications it is going to mean for us.

    Cheers

Structurally there are no implications of having a 1.9m stairs. Unless of course it was 2m and has since shifted.
The implications are that it doesn't comply with building regs, and the comfort issue

    as mellor says above...plus..

if you have no personal issue with this then i wouldnt let it detract you from purchasing the dwelling..... it wouldnt be a pivotal issue for me.
