Disconnect from PSN

Every now and again I'm disconnected from the PSN for no apparent reason. It just says that I've been signed out of the PSN and then a couple seconds later my online game crashes because I'm not logged in.

    - Playstation 3
    - Irish Broadband
    - Wireless Connection to router

This can sometimes last an hour or more (I usually get fed up and goto bed), but the internet browser on the PS3 always works during this time.

Is this a common thing that other people notice ?

In the same boat, IBB breeze with wireless router as well. Can't figure it out, can use the web explorer with no problems. some days i can stay connected all the time, other days it keeps timing out. It's not the router, ran ping for an hour with litte or no lost packets on my laptop. Tempted to bring PS3 into the other room and plug modem directly into the PS3 to see what happens.

Same thing happens to me. I have no idea why but if someone comes up with a theory I love to here it?
I also am on a wireless router. Has anyone had this with a lan cable?

I never disconnect so it wont be the PSN that is at fault.

Mine often does it while playing on-line, and finally figured out it is when the baby monitor is turned on, must interfere with the wireless somehow!

I cant even get on the network at all. I'm getting a message saying access is suspended at the moment, try again later.

    Internet access is fine though.

Do any of you who get disconnected, have disconnect after certain period of inactivity enabled on your router?
I have my router set for nailed-up connection and have never had disconnect issues.

Bringing this thread up again the problems are ongoing.

My mates on Eircom with the same issues. "Server connection failed" "cannot connect to host" etc. It works fine for a while and then just doesn't work. Cannot find games, takes ages to find games, etc.

Are other people having the same prooblem? It comes across to me liek Sony just aren't investing in the servers and capacity. Is it just me ???

Alright lads I have the exact same problems signing into the PS network. Im using IBB 2Mb Breeze connection and I dont use a router. I just plug ethernet cable directly from the radio unit into the PS3. I have the playstation about three months and I think i have ever signed in about two times. And the joy doesnt last long either, I get signed out after a few mins. Ive been on other forums and threads and nobody seems to know what the craic is. Ive no problem accessing the web from the PS3 and my speeds are pretty decent. I rang up IBB the other day and they said that they have no problems with the PSN, but then again they're goin to say that aren't they. :o Any legends out there that can help?
