he would be a very welcome addition to the ufc middleweight category. himself and anderson silva could be a very exciting fight

Interesting.. He didn't look small in Pride, but all of a sudden he looks small in UFC. Maybe it's the cameras!

I think he will clean house at 185.

Im pretty sure he'd clean up most of the LHW division as well to be honest,i can see him smashing Jardine if he fights him.

If he goes to MW then I can see him being a serious contender there as well.

    Aren't steroids legal in Japan?

Well he passed the tests when he fought Hendo in Pride in Vegas and he looked alot bigger then than he did against Liddell I hate the way people always claim steroids!

I'm not sure, but that doesn't mean Wanderlei was taking them.

I didn't mean to imply that he was a cheat, it's just that I read somewhere that it was standard practice in Pride. Dunno how true that is though.

there is no testing in japan, as such it's safe to say that most of the fighters where using what they could over there, it would have been fair game

i was only thinking last night how it would be a good move for him to move down. liddle has a wrestling back ground so im sure he cuts alot of weight. silva must cut too but might not be as much. i guess thats why he looked small

By that rationale, most Irish fighters are using too...

But steroids in Ireland are a controlled substance. Steroids in Japan are not. And if the Org doesn't test and the substance isn't illegal then where is the problem?

As for Wandy, this will mean an eventual run in with Hendo which is all good as far as i am concerned.

i can't see wandy going down to middleweight.
for one, a fighter of his age would find it alot harder on his body to cut down to 185

and two, there are too many big fights for him at 205. i mean he can still fight chuck in a rematch or possibly rampage if he wins a few fights. also theres machida and sokudo or even (but unlikely) a fight with shogun.

i know wandy is a small LH but how come people wern't complaining when he was dominating PRIDE for 5 years!

Yes, and would be normal to assume are used widely, as they are a legal method of performance enhancement in Japan.

The man's only 31! I don't think he's past the point of cutting yet!

    Agreed it is silly.

Wand is only 5'10-5'11 so him making 185 is doable.

It's not that silly when discussing Japan. Steroids are legal there and they're generally not tested for, so to just rule out the possibility of someone fighting in Japan using steroids is silly I think. It's a different culture, it isn't looked upon as cheating or as a bad thing by the majority of people there

well like nogueira, silva has been through alot of wars in his career and they have taken a toll on his body in someway or another.

and generally the older a fighter gets the more likely they are to move up in a weight class than drop down.
Couture did it for a while but by the time he faced chuck the 3rd time, you could see the weight cutting was having an effect
