Theres a house just off my road called 'Gloom and Doom' .

Also how about calling it Hugh Laurie? Then you can spend two weeks making jokes about it and then the rest of your life regretting it.

    You could call it,
"I got this name off the internet because I couldn't think of one",
but it might be a bit long, you would have to shorten it to "IGTNOTIBICTOO" for the post.
prehaps "It not bic too" is more phoneticly pleasing

Our house is called Brian. We thought it might like a proper name. :)

We didn't bother with a name, it just adds another line to your address.

Think of all the time, energy and ink you will save over the rest of your life, by not having that extra line in your address.

Name it after a place you like.

    My house is called Pelham.

I am renovating a house to sell and think the process of naming a house is naff and pretentious. Our auctioneer reckons we should come up with a 'wonderful name to make someone fall in love with it'. I am stumped and would appreciate a value adding name. There is a good list here

but my question is has anyone bought a house because they fell in love with the name and what was that name. Many thanks.

I've horrified my girlfriend with the idea that if we ever build a house I'm going to call in "Starfleet Headquarters" or "The SGC" in reality i really want to call in "cloud 9"

On the first part of the journey
I was looking at all the life
There were plants and birds and rocks and things
There was sand and hills and rings
The first thing I met was a fly with a buzz
And the sky with no clouds
The heat was hot and the ground was dry
But the air was full of sound

I've been through the desert in a house with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain
    La, la ...
