    Anyone able to tell me why it's so bad?
    Not being sarcastic;
    I have next to no experience in martial arts and I'd be interested as to why the poll is amusing.

    30% of the poll is that karate is the best! most people know an average boxer or bjj player would whop a top karateka!

    tkd came 2nd and most tkd lads will tell you its no great for self defense!

    2 out of 100 think boxing is the best, this is ridiculus, Boxing is the most obvious thing to use in street fight and if you end up on the deck grappling type arts such as judo and bjj are great-the poll is just ridiculus!!

    muay thai should also be high up on the list too.

    Cos things like boxing, bjj, judo and muay thai are way down.
    I'd say the poll more reflects what MA everyone does on that forum as opposed to much else...

    Nice to see tkd no.2 though! Ha ha!

    Any poll of this type is not just way off but completely meaningless, regardless of the outcome.

    Man I even do TKD and know if in bother (from personal experience) first things that go up are the fists. Thankfully in ITF TKD we learn to box too. Kind of crazy havin karate and japanese jiu jitsu in the same category too.

    Really? When I did ITF TKD we were not allowed to Hook or Uppercut in sparring as it was ‘to dangerous’.

    The poll appears to be a complete polar opposite to the truth.

    Depending on the karate style, it may or may not be practical. For example, Kyokushin Karate would be very practical for self defense.

    I still would pick boxing, muay thai, bjj or judo over karate.
