Anyone know where I might catch some screenings of his films, or perhaps pick some of them up in DVD (with subtitles). I've been interested in checking him out for a while now.

If you've got the cash to spare, you could try this

A one-man German film industry in the '70s. Died too young but made a LOT of movies. When starting out he was supposed to have been rejected by film schools. Heavily influenced by the Hollywood director Douglas Sirk. The box sets are available in some Dublin shops. I could be mistaken but I think one of his films is on the English Leaving Cert?

I love Querelle, and it's pretty easy to get on DVD. They have it in the Gay section in the retail shop of laser in town

I'll have a look in town during the week, and if I find nothing I'll try play.com

    Thanks!
