Does playing the likes of COD4 online go against my Eircom download cap? I've been playing alot of this since the patch, don't wanna be charged for going overboard. Cheers

Don't see why it wouldn't. Data is being transferred afterall. Don't think it would blow your cap however.

Is data being transferred by visiting a website though?

They wont charge you even if you go over the limit, no chance will you go over the limit just by playing Cod4/ normal net use

everything you do on the net goes against your download cap, unless of course you're uploading (ie. sending data).

Anything that involves the transfer of data counts toward your cap. If you got information or sent information then it uses some of your cap.

Online gaming and websites wouldn't use that much though in most cases.

P2P or downloading/streaming video's will eat into your cap though.

most ISP's give you a stats page where you can log in and check how much you've downloaded/uploaded.

your ISP will give you two rates (bt's standard is like 20GB download and 5 or 10GB upload)

I was told elsewhere that 5 hours of counter strike is 15-20mb of data. So to blow a 10 gig cap in a month would take about 2500 hours of gameplay. But there aint 2500 hours in a month so it's all good! :)

cod4 uses p2p to play online thats wi a lot of people have trouble wth it but it still uses very little of ur cap
