you cant bid above the asking price, this is not an auction, gatling has offered asking price first, so it is his unless the deal falls through

actually, reading over the thread again, Utreg appears to have offered asking price first

Utgreg agreed to take it, i don't see any reason why sale shouldn't go to him. Unless he wants to let me take it:D

To answer kdouglas, Gatling was first to make a clear offer of asking price whereas Utreg expressed interest rather than make a clear interest. Had he said "I'll take it off ya", he'd be first in line. His use of the words 'like to get' changes the entire dynamic of what he posted. This may sound harsh, but rules are rules and we need to draw a very definite line for adverts on what consitutes an offer and what does not.

Also, monksavage has very luckily avoided a two week ban since kdouglas modified his offer so I didn't see it.

LOL so much for asking politely, eh? :D
No worries lads, next in line can take it. Or actual first in line, I'm not sure... ;)
The missus will be happy anyway, since its getting hard to store all the guns and gear.

I too would like to throw my hat into the ring on this one. Baring all people ahead of me contracting some kind of hidious fatal condition I doubt I will get it but still worth a shot.

I will offer asking price if noone else wants.

    Sorry for going off thread OP but;
Where does it say people get a 2 week ban for making an offer on a sale?

The Charter also says the sale of BB Guns is prohibited:eek: but everyone selling stuff in Airsoft and Painball Adverts doesnt get banned for 2 weeks!

Check Advert rules in section 8 under Firearms, ammunition, fireworks, explosives, blades and hazardous materials.

I would assume that 'pellet gun' in the rules would refer to airsoft products. It is a pre August 06 rule which hasn't been updated. The fact that there is a whole forum dedicated to the sale of airsoft gear would make it pretty obvious that it is now okay.

Trying to outbid the asking price is a serious no no on a thread. As kdouglas said, this is not an auction. First to offer asking gets it. That's how it works.

As is off topic discussion. If you have a problem with the rules or the moderation, take it to the appropriate forum.

Now leave it at that. Any more off topic posting will result in a ban.

No, they are not, please read the charter in the main airsoft and paintball forum.

i thought airsoft guns fired BB's though?

Right, this thread has descended into p*ss-taking.

First of all, I'm going to tell everyone to go here and then look at the top couple of threads. See the one in big capital letters that says Airsoft - Adverts forum charter - MUST READ BEFORE YOU MAKE A THREAD ? Go read it before you post again on this forum.

    Or else.

I have taken note of behaviour that I have found wanting, and only for the fact that both o1s1n and kdouglas have posted here already since my post yesterday, there would be at least one person banned, and another two given a severe warning.

This is not a discussion forum on the legalities of airsoft. This is not a discussion forum on moderation of airsoft adverts. If you have a problem with moderation, please take it to the adverts.ie support forum. If you have a problem with somebody's post, do not act a vigilante, use the "report it" function (the ! button found beside the user online/offline status icon on the left hand side a post) and the moderators will deal with it.

using this thread as an example would it not be better to add this section to adverts.ie and the rules on the wiki updated since they are somewhat outdated.

dont punish me for posting this is the wrong place or off PM :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,414 ✭✭✭kdouglas

The rules on the wiki apply to adverts.ie, this sub-forum is specifically for the sale of airsoft and paintball equipment as it is targeted towards airsoft and paintball player's whereas adverts.ie is targetted towards joe public. This forum falls under the remit of adverts.ie rules, but has it's own subset of rules.

and on that note, if anyone wishes to discuss the rules of this forum further, pm a mod or start a thread in the main forum.
