Can anyone recommend a good recruitment agency for marketing positions. I signed up to a few last year and have been disappointed with the lack of follow up - promise you the moon and then nada.

    Thanks.

I don't think people like agencies around here :)

    Quite a few non-agency jobs here: http://www.jobseeker.ie/jobs.php?all=&exact=&some=&none=&title=marketing&location=

I don't think there are Marketing agencies out there! I read the thread a few times, i have a friend who graduated from DIT Marketing Management last year and has signed with a few agents. It's the same ol story "Ah, there aren't any jobs"

OP, i think you should focus on applying directly to companies(i.e send your cv with a cover letter) e.t.c. Rather than go through agencies. And when you say Marketing what aspect are you interested in? Supply Chain/Sales e.t.c.

I'd recommend you use the usual job sites (Jobs.ie, Irishjobs, Recruit Ireland and the Marketing Institute of Ireland site) agencies are a total waste of your time (unless you're looking admin/secretarial jobs then they seem excellent) also you don't say what area you wish to work in but if you can contact marketing managers of the companies you would like to work with at least you might be called for an interview, this cuts out the middleman particularly as most Marketing jobs aren't advertised for in certain sectors

Thanks folks. Applying directly to marketing managers is definitely one angle. I should compile a wish list of companies i would like to work for.

My current role is very broad - below the line, mailshots, brochures, basic websites. I would like to get more experience in internet marketing or go into brand management.

You could try Hudson Global Resources on Mount Street in Dubin 2
They are quite good and I hear they have an excellent maketing team and they don't push you into any position. They got my friend a great job.
    Good luck with your search

Headhunt International. they have a lot of Online Marketing jobs anyway so they might do normal marketing.

    cheers

I couldn't recommend you any good agencies for street sweeping positions, never mind marketing, sales, IT or HR.

Take the initiative and directly mail companies yourself. Draw up a short-list of 20 companies you really would like to work for and contact them directly with a cover letter and your CV.
