Hi - I have a 120Gb Western Digital Passport drive, which was working fine the last few monhts but now won't show up in my list of drives.

    When I plug in the USB it makes a funny beeping noise, 5 times - de-de-di, de-de-di, de-de-di, de-de-di, de-de-di

Any suggestions as to what the problem is??

Are there any reasonably priced data recovery people in Dublin?

Are they the one that get the power from the usb? I have read they sometime do not get enough power. Would lack of power be the issue?I do not have one I only read that when reseaching them as I was thinking of buying one but that kinda put me off

Yea they're powered from the USB. It was working fine, we had a party on Saturday night - it's possible something was split on it or it was dropped.

There is an LED which is coming on ok, and the sound that Windows makes when a USB device is plugged in/out is happening.
