Nope, it's an eBay shop, but they sell new gear, not second hand!

One of the best eBay sellers I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with!

where are they shipped from ? do you get f*cked by customs ?

ah i see there is a 51 pound delivery charge!! way too much ... still a good price overall though ..

    Nothing outrageous about that price.
You'll find the same deal on most Hong Kong based eBay camera stores.

I found them very slow, and don't answer emails, sent them 5 to see where my items were, I would not buy of them again.

I ordered and paid for a 300mm lens, an item listed on ebay as being in stock. It wasn't and they didn't know when they would have it supplied.

Took a few emails and telephone calls for them to respond. Tried to get me to leave positive feedback before the refund as well as asking me to inform both paypal and ebay that I'd decided to withdraw from the purchase.. Passed that email on to both paypal

Got a refund but lost out on exchange rate

    Wouldn't deal with them again.

Well I have never had a problem with them, whether it was buying a battery for €3 or a lens for €3,000
Then again, I usually e-mail sellers before I bid, to ensure they have what I want.
    That's just me though.

I've done €€€€'s worth of business with them over the years. Out of the many purchases I only had one cock up, a grip for a 5D went awol. A replacement was posted out ASAP though.

One of my mates got some Canon batteries off him before and they were very obviously used before. Not new as advertised.

As I said before I spent a fortune with him, but if I make another purchase from HK I'll be doing it from Kea in future I think.

+1 for Kea. Spent €4k with them in the past month and probably the best bit of business I did on Ebay in a long time. Albert was very quick with emailing me back with updates with regards to payment and FedEx shipping tracking and all of it was spot on.

Another one for Kea. Just ordered a 40D from albert - sitting in a fedex warehouse right now and hoping they will drop it off to me tomorrow. Very good to deal with.

Hmm looking at it more, its worse, its £51 for P&P PLUS
48 pounds extra for each item.

    thats 272 + 48 + 51 = 371 (no warranty)

    ffordes.com have it for 379 (+ warranty) ..+ 12.50 P &P

so ffordes is still a little bit more pricey .. but i think id trust them more
why do they(urgalaxy) have to charge £99 for P&P ?

anyway , let me know other Hong Kong sites (reliable ones !) that have these lenses cheap ,
    cheers..

I would absolutely recommend this guy. He's based in Scotland, but his prices are more HK than UK. Postage always seems to cost only GBP10 no matter what he's posting and there is no customs implications because he's posting from the UK.
The lens you are looking for is not listed on his page, but send him a mail asking for a price.
Stand up guy so far for all the stuff I've got from him

I ordered a lens from urgalaxy on a Monday and it arrived on Wed. Couldn't get better.

If your ordering multiple items why don't you send them an email and ask for a special price. I recently ordered multiple items from kea and he did a reasonable rate, for those items.

If you don't ask you don't get

What about tax for Kea ?

since it is shipped from HK do you get taxed on it by customs ?

Flagging this up - please don't talk about tax evasion in this forum - it is illegal to do so (both to do it and talk about it ;) ) I think this is mentioned in the Charter somewhere.

If customs inspect your package you can expect to be charged customs duty at twenty something percent (may be 28%). Delivery charge is included in calculating tax liability.

Unless you buy a good valued under E22 - then it is exempt from tax (remember to factor in delivery cost too).

+1 for him. I got my Sigma 10-20 and Nikon speedlight from him :)

They charge that amount because they're sending an item half way around the planet in two to three days. Surface post from places far closer to HK often takes twice as long. It's another example of getting what you pay for.
Other examples of places to buy are in the sticky above.

There's also the fact that ebay does not take its cut from the delivery price, so a lot of HK based places hike up the delivery cost to make bigger profits.

yup.. but ya cant argue with 3 day delivery.. especially when it'd take a week or more to get it from a local shop (at twice the price)
