So here it is... No, not any of my L lenses, nothing like that.

    Introducing... The Lensbaby!

    :D

    And some pics.

It's taken a bit of getting used to - I only picked it up yesterday evening, and have only gotten around to playing with it this morning, with a sore head, and in between processing.

It's lots of fun. There's a knack in using it alright. I was going to hold off posting anything until I got it into the studio, but meh. I want to show them off now! Hopefully will be in the studio tomorrow.

I also have a loan on the WA and telephoto adapters, and a few other bits and bobs that I'll be playing with during the week.

If any of you don't know what it's about, it's a bit like the bastard child of the bellows of a large format camera, a tilt/shift lens, a holga, and a bottle of liquer.

    Hope you enjoy.

Yes. They're supposed to be blurry.

    Al :)

Lovely shots Al. The first and second are a great contrast for the lens. I've heard good things about it for portrait work and the first one backs it up.

Is it the lensbaby 1 or 2?

Please bring to the meet next weekend as I've been toying with getting one of these for ages now.

i like the 2nd and 3rd , that old sepia look , the girl shot image is nice , but looks little over exposed to me

It's the 3G - so it has the locks and fine focus on it. I'll bring it along next weekend, if you can put up with it being on a Canon! :p

I can live with that. Hmm, that trip to Birmingham could be getting even more expensive.

Edit: that should be Birmingham as in the city, not the shop

Nice shot Elven in No 1. (Just saw you shoe/legs self portrait as well, also very nicely done)

For No 2, the wiring reminds me of a flat I lived in for about 8 years years ago in Rathmines. How it never blew up with all the electrical items and heaters plugged in I will never know.

    Cheers all :)

Btw, I still took the one of Elven :p

Rory, you should see the plugs in my bedroom - Student living and all that!

Love the plug shots - and the hallway one in particular!

Never heard of one of those things. Must still be a newb...

Am I right in saying that the shot of Elven is the most indicative of the tilt-shift effect? The forced-perspective feel is very cool, but it's almost jarring. I mean that in a good way, like the way Salvador Dali does it.

I don't think the first one is the most indicative of the TS, just the selective focus. I don't really have anything that show's off the TS movements just yet.

Right, from being out and about today, (but not in the studio), the lens has a tendancy to overexpose, I guess, because it's getting a hell of a lot of darkness. Is good fun though, and can give good results.
