Does anyone else get really piiived off with the constant bouncing of icons in the dock?

I know you can disable all animation within the dock but is there any way to set the maximum bounces to 3 or whatever and then the icon remains static with a red mark above it, or something?

the bouncing use bug me in the beginning, but i got to like it in the end. In fact I love when an icon bounces now.

Did you try system pref and click dock to see what might happen.

If you don't do anything about it you might get to like it. Eventually.

You can't change the bouncing, well maybe you can now in Leopord but not in any older OS.

You can turn off the bouncing which occurs when an App is launching (in Leopard, anyway), but the other time that an icon bounces is when the app needs your attention, due to an error or other message needing your action or acknowledgement.

If you are busy with something else, you can either:

Ignore the bouncing (I'm sensing that you're not finding that easy!), or

You could click on the bouncing icon and attend to the error/message being shown (but this can break your concentration/train of thought), OR (and here's the little-known one)

You can click on the bouncing icon, not bother with the error, and click back to the app that you were busy with in the first place - the bouncing stops, you can continue with what you're doing, and deal with the error/message later.

It's bouncing cause it's excited.... you should be too!
