Philips Monitor Keeps Going Blank

I just got a new 22" Philips monitor and any time I try to change any display setting the left side of it sort of goes dark and then the whole thing goes blank. I then have to switch it on and off 3-4 times before it stays on again. It also happens at random when I dont change any settings. Reckon its a busted monitor or…
