So, I've been to Glasgow loads of times, and Edinburgh too....but that's about it. I'm going to T in the Park in July and thinking of taking a week after to see a bit more of Scotland. The only thing is I have no idea where to go. I love hillwalking and want to head up to the Highlands. But I don't exactly even know where that means! I'm not sure whether to find somewhere as a base and do things during the day. Or to go from place to place on some trail. Any suggestions?

Fly into Inverness for a start anyway.

Highlands are great. Dufftown, Keith, Forres, Tomintoul, Grantham on Spey all great little villages. Inverness great as well. Each village has an annual 'highland games' festival weekend, if you time your visit with one of these weekendsm it is great craic.

The whisky trail will provide you with a great itenery
