Just seen him on Seconds Out saying that all the Irish super heavy's sh1t themselves when he registered to fight in the seniors and that he was conned out of fighting because the other fighters were scared to face him.

Anyone know any background to this?

he is from england and apparently the reason he could not fight in the all irelands was that he could not prove he had irish family or that he has lived in ireland for the last 2 years

Yeah he's from Manchester - he said that his father was born in Galway but they could only find his baptisimal cert and that the place in Galway that held the birth certs burnt down.

could be true - however, from seeing him spar a few round I have to say that we must be crazy in not allowing him to fight for Ireland

he won bronze in the world juniors for england a few years back so i dont know if there is a rule about boxing for another country. He was beaten fairly handy by david price in last years aba's. I never seen him box but he is some size. I think he was just using the iaba as a way to get to the olympic qualifiers imop

I dont doubt that he was using the IABA route as a chance to get to the Olympic but we've been used by worse!

It seems more of a step than it is. Most of yer mans opponents have had no previous fights or a losing record. Anyone that was good that he faced beat him. Still a bit of a "prescott" opponent though. and will no dount test tyson furys chin!!! lets hope yer man has a serioulsy padded record!!!

i just think its a massive jump for a second fight. a man can be forgiven to have his first five opponents be tomato cans so he can ease his way into the ways of a pro

No doubt about it. he's in with a guy who has a lot of power thats for sure. Dangerous opponent in that regard.

This will definitley test his chin!!!
