Playing better without a HUD

I'm away from home all week and have been putting in a few sessions in my hotel room, poker sessions on my laptop I mean.

I feel like I'm playing much better than I have over the last couple of months. It's not just that I'm avoiding getting spewy. I'm not necessarily playing tight. I'm actually playing quite a wide game, re-raising light occasionally and 3 betting all-in with air and winning at the right time.

Is it possible this is down to not having PAHUD on my laptop? Without it I feel like I'm having to concentrate harder on getting a feel for where I'm at with the players on my table and that's seems to be what's giving me more positive results. Can this be possible?

It's also possible that it's because I don't have the pressure of my girlfriend downstrairs waiting for me to come down and tell I made lots of money but hopefully not. :)

Has anyone else dropped the HUD because they felt they were playing better without it?

I think I'm clever enough to know at this stage the difference between running well and just playing better.

Would that apply to knowing the difference between the worst player in the world ever and a respected pro playing badly? :p

As for advice why dont you try play for a couple of months without it and see how it goes...cant hurt!

either you ran hot, or your decision making is worse the more information you have. Try reducing the amount of stats that you use on your HUD.

Well, is it it possible that as a result of having the HUD I'm focussing way too much on VPIP/PFR and getting lazy when it comes to memory recall and trying to figure out what a guy has through bet sizing and timing? So I'm looking at the stats and the guy is 22/18 and play too tight or get too ambition against a guy playing 36/10.

Also just for the record my girlfriend is very supportive when it comes to my poker career. That a was just a joke. :/

When I've known that people are waiting for my results I have uniformly played AWFUL. When I first went to Vegas I started a blog about my day to day cash sessions. It went great for a few days and I ran well and reported nice wins. Then I stared to WORRY about not having a winning session and having to report that. I couldnt make big moves, I played like a nit and I got owned.

Is it possible that reporting to your girlfriend is putting you under too much pressure mentally to have a winning session and you're play is being affected because you dont want to report a bad losing session?

    DeV.

Could have something to do with you being away from home too ( as well as the girlfriend ) i.e you're more relaxed, enjoying yourself, not expecting to book big winning sessions etc.

No, It's nothing like that. I put the pressure on myself when I play badly. My girlfriend is the greatest whether I win or lose.

I was having issues with Pahud and HM hud due to them not working properly for 1 million various issues. It annoyed me so I lagged it up and crushed all tables.
    Clearly it's the way forward!
