Interesting, well acted and pivotal one this. We got our first glimpses of Jacks Home, his family, and of Grey.

We also got to see real good stuff from Gwen and Rhys whose helplessness in the situation shows that they are using him for what I've always wanted him to be which is a real foil to the team and their extraordinary lives and shows what an utter waste season one was in so many ways, and a harmless but cute side story involving Tosh and Owen, which takes on a major significance at the end of next weeks ep

The only real downside for me was Adam himself. Reminding me of an 80's sitcom lookalike character, a villain, if he actually is one (and that makes him a good villain for me) as good as him should really have been built up over a few weeks. Why not have him simple hanging around in the background for a few eps, would have been a bit more daring and imaginative than him being wrapped up in the one show.

Still, for me the show is really getting its feet. It's running now, and if it keeps this up I hope that season 3 will make this a really really popular show.

If this show was American it wouldn't be an almost hidden secret when you consider how crappy some of the recent genre shows form the US have been recently. By all accounts its storming it on BBC America, all it needs is for a network or a credible Cable Satellite channel to pick it up.

Jesus, never thought I'd be saying this after Season 1!!

It was a great episode alright. I didn't mind that he was introduced in one episode. That was the essence of his character after all, that he would enter seamlessly and fake the backstory. I'm sure he'll be back at some future point anyway. He really was the best villain that Torchwood have had so far I thought.

Definitely Season 2 is showing Torchwood to be a show of some merit. And I thought I'd never say that after the juvenile mess that was Season 1. The show's finally grown up, bought some spot cream and moved out of home.

    Ep 2x06
The BBC3 episode afterwards was a bit of a drawn out let down though. I can't wait till Martha Jones is out of the picture again.

Oh, we'll have to agree to disagree on that I guess :D:D

I assume there's only facet to her character that you're after.

Perhaps as a compromise, if I get Martha leaving, you can get Tosh wearing that top with that bra again? :p Perhaps Tosh should have left herself a "It's the bra" note before taking the amnesia pill and she would have Owen in love with her at present ;)

I actually thought this was probably the best episode yet. For the first time it felt more adult - and it didn't need copious swearing or nudity to achieve it. The concepts, although not new, was executed well - far more so when we saw how Adam had actually made them happier, more carefree. Seeing them revert back was a very good look at their characters:

Owen could be a very nice guy if he didn't feel forced to bury everything under a veil of cynicism. Tosh could be happy if she believed in herself. Gwen isn't complete without Rhys (their scenes were nicely handled).

It was good in particular to see more of Jack - I figured it was obvious who Grey was after the season premiere but it#s no harm and it gives the character motivation for some of his actions.

I thought the guest star was again quite a capable actor. The directing was also above par for the show - the scene with Adam implanting memories in Ianto was very well done.

Who'd ever have thought them capable of this stuff last season?

I have to agree that this season is a massive improvement on the first. I'm really getting into it in a way that I just didn't last year!

I particularly enjoyed this episode. Very well acted all round I thought and I loved the way Tosh, Owen and Ianto were just so extremely opposite to their usual selves after having their memories messed around with (geeky Owen in particular was great!).

I also loved the touch of having Adam in a couple of the opening scenes, as if he's been part of the team along - nice. Great to finally see a bit more of Jack's background too.

Absolutely - what a relief he didn't get that amnesia pill, it would have been so frustrating if he'd gone back to being poor, ignorant Rhys from season 1. I actually find Gwen more likeable than before because of the interaction between them since he's become 'aware'.

Definitely a pretty good episode, but Jack's messianic interaction with the team as he gave them their pills annoyed me. Gwen's "I love him (Rhys). But not in the way I love you! (Jack)." Tosh's "Knowing I'm special, waiting for someone to see it." "I did" (Jack). Owen's "I've saved hundreds......Who will save me?" "I will." (Jack) Ianto's "coming here, learning to live again......... You! (Jack)." It was a bit much.

But apart from that scene it was great.
