Not used works, but is there a ".rtf (rich text format)" extension in the "save as" list?

    Edit..

    Found this.

Works Word Processor can save a document in any of the following files:

    • Works for Windows (.wps) Word Processor files from Works for Windows 3.0 and later.
    • Works Word Processor template (.wpt) files.
    • Rich Text Format (.rtf) files.
    • Unformatted ASCII text (.txt) files.
    • Hypertext Markup Language (.htm,.html and .htx) files.
    • Microsoft Word for Windows versions 2.x, 95, 97, and 2000 (.doc) files.
    • Microsoft Word for Macintosh versions 4.0 through 5.1 (.mcw) files.
    • Word Perfect 5.x (.doc) files.
    • Word 97 to Word 2002, 6.0 (95) RTF.
    • Word Perfect 5.1 for MS-DOS files.
    • Word Perfect Secondary 5.x files.

So you shuold be ok to save it as a Rich Text Format .RTF and be ok.
Actually as you have said .doc is nly accepted (really should pay more attention, but it's late) You can save the file as..

    • Microsoft Word for Windows versions 2.x, 95, 97, and 2000 (.doc) files.
