    Is anyone using Speed download?

    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/internet_utilities/speeddownload.html

I just had a real quick look at it, Im a little confused as to how its supposed to work.... does it work in the back ground along with Safari, or do you click and drag into "my downloads" window?

Ive read the website and it just says how amazing the software is and how many amazing features it has but doesnt actually say....

"just click and download as normal and Speeddown load does its thing in the back ground"

    or

"you must open the web page then click and drag the download into the Speed Download "your donwloads" browser"

Anyone have any insight ? I'll spend a little time later but dont have my mac book with me... if I figure it out I'll post up my thoughts.... at first glance it sounds great if it does what it says on the tin.

    T

I use it all the time with safari and firefox, you can download a trial version to test out. Speed download is an actual application and installs plugins into your web browser, so basicially when you click a download link in Safari it opens the Speed Download App ;)

    Cheers , I found this

    http://www.yazsoft.com/content/tour/safariinteg.html

so I guess once I integrate it with Safari its straight forward enough!

Which is sweet cause Im on the dreaded 3g with Vodafone and its painful when ya loose half a gig download and have to restart again turing the whole thing into neary a gig .... a fifth of your monthly usage:eek:

does it actually speed up downloads or is it just a fancy name for a download manager? i don't have particularly bad downloads as it is, but hey any speed increase is good!

I've heard nasty things about yasoft, one of them being that they automatically charge you for updates.

I bought version 4 for $25. I don't mind paying for quality software. It works seamlessly with Safari and files away multiple downloads in folders. It's great

During the week I was prompted to download Version 5 so I did. And now I have trial version of Version 5 and it keeps asking me to pay again.
    WTF?

I've already paid for the software and I don't want to pay again. Imagine if Apple charged for Leopard 10.5.2 to all Leopard users.
I have tried to go back to my paid for version but I can't seem to do it.

It's a good product but make sure you don't update without being sure they'll charge you again.
