I am getting sick and tired of seeing Boris Becker's ugly mug everytime i log onto stars.

I know his history, but is he really that big in Germany that we have to see a Tennis Players mug on a Poker site every time we log on?

If anyone has any info, has he got creds as a poker player?

They are trying to tap into the ginger market.

Not many ginger haired people play poker, it's an little known unexplainable quandary.
Also poker and tennis have long been intrinsically linked, it's an little known unexplainable quandary.

Like Greg Raymer is no oil painting, but i'd rather look at Raymer's mug, and respect him for what he has done at Poker than look at this idiot. And another thing, when they decided to sponsor a woman poker player, couldn't they have got someone a bit better looking than that german cow?

    Father Dougal: Come on, Sampras.
Father Ted: What did you call him?
Father Dougal: Sampras, like Pete Sampras.
    Father Ted: Why?
Father Dougal: Well... you know, rabbits, tennis, you know that whole connection there.

A bit harsh, for a 40 something year old she's quite good looking imo. Not super model material but hardly a dog. Not that it should matter what she looks like . She's a respected poker player in Germany unlike Becker obviously, so at least she got on the Pokerstars Team for her poker profile.

Are we talking Katja here? If so, she's hawt, and I'd be more than happy to lay down and let her run her Panzer division all over my Maginot line any day.

Ok i was a bit peeved off last night, and i'll retract my statement about Katja Thater.

But Boris Becker on the main page of Stars just pisses me off.

I don't have any problem with his face on stars. When i was small he used to be my favourite tennis player. The guy is a legend.

    The guy is a legend.

That he is. He's a pretty cool guy imo. I actually think he has the necessary attributes to make a decent poker player. He's clearly a very intelligent guy, he's got the necessary bottle and also I'd imagine his instinct would be sharp. The one thing I think that would possibly leave him down is drive. Like a lot of you here I live breathe and %^&* poker, someone who has already made their fortune cannot have that same type of drive imo, maybe the fact that he is a very determined type of individual might compensate, time will tell I suppose.

Anyway great marketing by PokerStars imo.

    Very close.... :mad::mad:

JT, if Antonius wanted to be a Tennis Pro, he would be better then Federer right now. He has never failed at anything .... ever. Anyone saying otherwise is usually ejected from that forum. Hence Hotspur asking for a ban. I've decided to give some leeway on this occasion.

    Very serious business!!

oh. didn't realise that. was actually saying it in the 'former/failed' kind of way in that you always hear about people who were originally going to be tennis pros but acting/poker/dancing/etc got in the way. The majority of the time the people in question never had a chance but when they succeed in other things they make out that they made a concious choice.

PS. I am a tennis coach. Sometimes.
