    Hey all,

Where's the best spots for buying pre-built machines? Specifically for gaming, though budget / medium level rigs (€1000+ ex. monitor, peripheries). Are Dell's XPS alright? I've previously built my own but am WAAAAAAAY too lazy to do it this time!

    www.komplett.ie
    http://www.ankermann-pc.com/uk/

they do good comps for decent prices.

or you could pay someone on boards 100 quid to do it for you and save more money.

and personally i wouldnt touch a high end gaming pc from dell.
they will charge through the roof for a decent comp.

    +1

Do not buy from dell, you will regret it.

I would either learn to build it yourself or pay someone to build it for you. Speccing it yourself will allow to buy the best components, and you'll get exactly what you want for your money.

    I'll spec up a 1000 euro machine when I get a chance.

I'd definitely check adverts. You will get a lot more for your and it will be a very well built machine. The only problem is you might have to wait for one of the guys here to get bored of their rig/get tight for money before they'll sell it. It will be worth the wait though.

Hardwareversand are the best by far,you pick the parts and they build it for you for €19.99, they will install the software for €34.99

You can knock that one down to €739 if you drop the OS

How many chumps have bought the 'Komplett gamer' PC thinking you can any remotely recent games on it? you will get about 4 fps in Crysis on that PC.. why? because the graphics card is utter crap. You need an 8800 card to run Crysis well (8800GT - 200 euro or so)

On more of a budget? get an Ati 3850, will run Crysis 'okay'.. or Ati 3870 which is just about 10% slower than an 8800GT.

Hardwareversand.de are much better than Komplett, Their prices are great and they charge much less for the build
