Should be an absolute war , look for Macklin to win by late stoppage .
Matthew will be eager to test how he did compared to Duddy(close decision) and Asikainen(7 round stoppage) .

Good to see Rogan get himself a fight , I know being self managed he has found it difficult to get fights .

Mike Perez being kept active is a good thing too .

I wasn't too impressed withn Mackilin. He made hard work of an old man.
Duddy beats Macklin by late KO.....

I thought he done well against a tough old pro, entertained and showed class at times, macklin v duddy would be a great scrap..

Duddy has everything except a punch. And Macklin also possesses
good skills, but a notch below Duddy, and I also feel
John has more POP in his shots. Duddy is a more
determined and attacking styled fighter than Macklin.
If they met, I think Duddy's relentless attacks will wear
Macklin down. Macklin's stamina is IMO questionable....

i agree ,Macklin should have been better than that, macklin should have knocked campas down at least before 6 rounds. It goes to show how strong campus chin is from 115 fights(experince!)

    I hear you!!!

But what got me was the fact that Macklin, the far younger, and supposedly fitter man, was actually being pushed around the last couple of rds. Campas was finishing the stronger:rolleyes: Matthew never really tried to close the show in the last few rds, and if anyone should have been gasping and struggling, come rd 10, it should have been Yori boy.....

ye me too think duddy would stop macklin late on he's just be working at too high a work rate for macklin.

Macklin is shee-ite. I saw him last night-total junk. No punch, scared to raise his work rate because of his stamina issues, tentative jab, got hit waaaay too easy, seemed afraid to mix it up. Never even remotely bothered Campas. Macklin definitely the worst of the "IRISH" triumvirate of Duddy, Lee and himself.

I disagree I think he is severely lacking in his defensive game as well, and while he can take a punch better than anyone I have seen in a long long time, it is only a matter of time before he is stopped on cuts!

Disagree with this as well, Macklin is far from ****! I though he fought a very smart fight, he was getting some really good combinations in there, not just hoping for one big punch which lee often does. He fought a guy who has beat 94 (KO 73) other people and won! From what I’ve seen of Macklin so far I think the only thing he needs to work on is his stamina I could see him getting tired from about round 6 onwards and though he had boxed himself out at one stage. If he does work on his stamina I see him beating Duddy on points, he has better boxing ability than Duddy at the min but if they were to fight next weekend I don’t see him lasting the distance against Duddy (Stamina).

I think you're exaggerating a lot. Macklin is a decent enough boxer. I don't think he'll ever be a world title contender, but at European level he might trouble a few. Campas is an outstanding boxer and would give most fighters at Macklin's level a hard nights work.

    (Stamina).

I was waiting for someone to pull me up on this. I agree completely. Duddy takes too much and needs to tighten the defence. However, it is boxing, and taking punishment is inevitable. Duddy can take it. It's not doing him any good, but he's got a good chin, punch variety, stamina and style. His lack of punch is the main problem.....

I'd say Duddy has better stamina. He's not as good defensively as Macklin. It's only a matter of time before Duddy loses fight due to it being stopped because of cuts. I hope he wins a european tiltle or one of the less prestigious world belts before this happens.
