Raphael's Snooker Club, Lucan, was up for sale/lease not to long ago, not sure of the details. Have only been in there a few time as I tend to go to the club in Celbridge, its handier for parking and nicer.

I'd look elsewhere mate instead of a snooker hall. As far as I understand, the smoking ban has killed the industry somewhat.

Ya lucan club is for lease. Was talking to the owner and she said it had seriously gone down hill. I think they are trying to lease the space out for any purpose.

Bit of a slow down in building industry might get a few lads in again during the day though.

The 147 Club in Wexford is closing down in 2 weeks, the lad who runs it is gone fairly old, dunno what his plans for the place are though!

That club in Celbridge is a hole. Have started going there since Raphael's closed down, the tables are terrible and the cues might as well have been bought in Argos, and probably were.

He didn't say whether he was going to keep it as a snooker hall or not. the_pits could be a big shot property developer for all we know ;)

Although i'd say you're right about the smoking ban. I was probably one of the few that was looking forward to it coming in mainly cus I could have a game of snooker and not have to change my clothes after it. At least the pub scene still has the drinking indulgence to keep it going...

hey, just reading your post, why don't you try crossguns, great club, tables brushed and ironed every day,no idiots or scumbags welcomed, place is busy all the time, downturn in the economy does'nt seem to have affected this place,i play there every mon and thurs, couple of nice guys working there and they make you feel very welcome, coaching available too from what i have heard.
