I've flown both before and they offer pretty much the same service. Generally both have shared tv screens, charge for beer and offer the same sort of legroom.

Just back from Mexico, Delta sucks enormous ass....planes are antiquated, trolley-dollies are no spring chickens, and worse of all, a passenger collapsed en route, Dub-Atl, and they had no first aid training!!!!! My wife, a RGN, had to step in, leaving herself open to litigation from those litigation mad americans.
She wanted to check the womans blood pressure and the pump yoke was broken....
Eventually the woman came around and was ok, but how shoddy!!!

Also, in a five flight itinery we had hassle at every stage because the muppets in Delta in dublin cancelled one of the flights by accident.......when I asked to speak to someone in charge to sort it out in Mexico I was told to write it down and send it to the Dublin office as it was them that messed up............Never flying with them again if I can help it.

As for continental........Constantly over-booking flights which I don't understand - have had soo much hassle with them.
Fly Air Fungus is you can, or through London with BA!! That is how you run an airline!

I've flown both to New York in the last two years. Both pretty much the same in my experience but I would go with Continental in future because they fly in Newark which I think is far better to negotiate than JFK. The Delta terminal in JFK was a nightmare - of the three hour check in time we spent over 2 hours outdoors. Newark we were through security and all in about 20 minutes. If it's New York your going to Newark has a great train service into Manhattan.
