does anyone else think that ufc champions fight to frequently? i remember matt huges fighting in back to back events more than once. to me thats crazy. you look at boxing champions and you wouldnt see them fight more than twice a year but with saying that i dont know much about boxing. i am making a generalisation on what i have seen in my small experences of boxing.

It seems to me that injuries are now the biggest dictator of when and how often a fighter will actually fight.

I'm sure the fighters themselves would fight on every card if they could but obviously that would not be viable.

Over the last year or so the number of times a Champ will have a title fight seems to have become more spread out....which is a good thing. The Champ should only fight because someone is ready to try and take whats their's, not because a card needs a draw.

Increased number of drug tests of fighters on fight nights, as well as the introduction of testing between fights, will decrease the frequency of fights for many fighters
