Buying Electric Drums

    Hi there,

Noticed a set of electronic drums...... for tapping around and playing along to music. Haven't played for a long time and just want a toy kit.

Has anyone considered this Ion kit that's for sale in PC World. If anyone has one, are they any good.

Space and neighbours are an issue, so I have to go electronic.
    I await advice.

    Thanks

    Daconn

buy a proper drum kit and replace the heads with mesh heads so that it does not make noise.

that way you won't have to pay much money. You should be able to pick a cheap drum kit.

I've been looking for a decent kit to get too.

Depends on how much you are willing to spend I think.(<-ugh, sorry late in the day, hence the obvious statement!)

Also new to the lekky drum scene. So that's why I'm opting for a full kit.

I have one of these which I got nice and cheap off ebay and it is not the greatest. I'm not a drummer but it has helped me get the basics of drumming but there really is no advancement after that. The screws dont stay tight so the pads lose their position after a few minutes, if you over tighten the screws they snap. The kick and hihat pedals have a nasty habit of beating twice when you depress them and finally the software is very basic hand has a tendency to hang your pc from time to time.

Saying that I have had some fun with it and for 100euro it suited me, but if you really want to progress as a serious drummer then I would probably in your shoes get a more professional sounding kit, electric or otherwise
