i currently have a canon ixus i7 zoom and i want to upgrade. i was looking at the ixus 860, ixus 70, or the lumix DMC-FX33.
what i want out of a camera is compact (so it can fit in a handbag), more control than your average compact, wide angle lens, decent video and sound, low pixelation at high ISO, quick shooting in low light, and a pony :)
iv had a couple of canon compacts and i like the feel of them and most of the results.
i just cant decide, any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

also anyone wanting to buy my one year old pink canon ixus i7 zoom PM me.
    :)

My mom has the Ixus 860 and loves it. It takes good quality photos, considering it's size.

I've never used it myself, so can't speak about the functions, but it gets plenty of use.

I've just got a Canon G9 and it's great. It's bigger than the Ixus but should be small enough to fit into a handbag (mind you, I'm constantly amazed at the storage capacity of ladies' handbags but that's another topic:D).

The G9 allows you to set all the controls manually if you want, or let the camera do it all automatically. This gallery of pictures (http://johnsmyth.smugmug.com/gallery/4322029_62Q9P) was taken in Manhattan last week with the G9. My everyday camera is a 5D DSLR, and obviously, the G9 isn't that good, but it really is a good compact camera.

eh..the G3 looks great but its a bit out of my price range.
Im hoping to go traveling later in the year so i need to save my money, and then when i get back i plan on buying a big f*ck off digital SLR. i know it would make more sense to have one for those amazing traveling shots but i just couldent afford both.
i popped into the shops on my way home and had a play with the cameras and i think il probably get the ixus 860. i liked the feel, it wasent as heavy as thought it would be.
now i just have to shop around online for the best offer.
thanks for your replies, and remember that ixus i7 zoom is up for grabs.
    ;)
