    Hey,

Just wondering if anybody knows of any Tom Waits tribute bands that play in Dublin.

There was a band called the Raindogs - but they haven't updated their gig page in a couple of years!
Hubby is a Tom Waits fan and would love to surprise him with a tribute concert, but can't find any info either.

A band called Carnival Saloon used to. I think they're doing their own music now.

Yep - no gigs listed for them anymore. Come on lads - anyone even seen a good band lately with the lead singer smoking 100 ciggies a day and a touch of decency to the lyrics?

Hi there, found this thread while googling Irish Tom Waits Tribs.

There's a Limerick based Tom Waits Trib that has done a couple of gigs in Limerick and Cork (the latter just over a week ago) and there are definite plans to do Galway and Mullingar though dates are not confirmed. No plans for a Dublin show that I know of.

I'll promptly declare a material interest and mods can decide whether to delete my post for pimping -I've played drums for the two shows that have happened this year -though I dunno if I'll be there for the next ones wherever they may be. Waits apparently doesn't use a drummer live.

It's a mate of mine called David Irwin who brought the whole thing together as he's very passionate about the music and a brilliant pianist with it. I was happy to help out and had great fun.

He concentrates on, and indeed now brands the show, Tom Waits -The Early Years ...which has been handy for me as it meant I didn't have to bring a trash can. :)
