Employment for students

I'm hoping to go to NUIG next year, and planning on living in student accommodation. I want to be able to support myself as much as possible, so would ideally like to be able to get a halfway decent part-time job. So I was wondering if, with Galway being such a small city and full of students, there are generally many available?
    Thanks.

Usually a nice few. Try smyths, dunnes, woodies. They would all be good if you lived in gort of cuirt na coiribe. But if your going to be a coirib villiage person, maybe somewhere in town is better. Lots of offers for jobs around the terryland area

start looking early though. a lot of places will only be looking for full-timers around the start of the college term, as a lot of the full-timers in the summer will stay on as part timers. if you're still stuck, by around Nov/Dec the Christmas contracts open up and you could get a job to last you the rest of the year out of one of them fairly easily.
