nds cards - question

Hi, I have read through the threads here about these cards. I just want to get a couple of things clear before I buy one...

To run Gba software you need an ezflash 3-1?
This will also give you rumble capability and let you run the opera browser?
Will any type of nds slot card work with this ezflash?
Does the gba software get stored on the nds slot card or the ezflash or does it get transferred to the ezflash from nds card on the fly?
passme cards - what are they for - are they required anymore?
Are the new dstt and edge cards preferable to r4ds? r4ds seem to have a lot of problems with the spring loading mechanism?

Yea the R4 does have a problem with the spring mechanism but I think they have fixed that problem now..I dont have a ezflash but I do have the m3 lite card and that works great for Gba games and there is a new card called the M3-Real which can do both gba and ds.

so the m3real doesn't need a seperate gba cart then - is that correct? I looked at www.m3real.net but wasn't sure from the info there if that's correct...

This really was a big problem. I had an old one with a dodgy spring. Thought I'd fixed the thing...last week I took my DS out on the bus to find the micro sd card was missing. I wouldn't mind as I have a couple more...was just the damn saves! :(

I'd bought one of those replacement springless carts from dealextreme but it never fit. Was way too small. Even cut the board down a little bit and it still didnt work. Grrr

I have an M3 Real, and it doesn't work... I tried a GBA file (error says can't find slot 2 card), and I tried packing it as an NDS file using NDStation.

looked into it - you still need a gba expansion card to go into the gba slot....

No matter what any card says, it's impossible to run slot 2 from slot 1. You'll need that 3-in-1 ez flash thing.

I have the old R4 as well and the spring is gone on it.But a little bit of cellotape though soon fixed that problem :D I have the m3 lite and that is slot 2 and works grand for gba games..I tried a gba emulator for the R4 today to see what it was like but most of the games did not load properly so like Oisin said get the ez flash or m3 lite and they work great :)

As an update also bought a dstt card for a friend. dstt is actually a lot faster for loading software than m3 real. m3 real has more advanced features tho. both work thankfully. build quality ok in both cases. dstt card slightly difficult to get out of the ds.
